With around 300 km of track and a central location near Cologne, the RWE works railway network offers optimum conditions for sustainable subsequent use. The main workshop is technically highly qualified and positions itself as a leading service provider for railway vehicle maintenance.
The political promotion of rail transport is creating increasing demand for the maintenance of railway vehicles. RWE Power AG has recognised the opportunities through a market analysis and has defined a clear path for market entry. With a multi-year programme, the main workshop is developing into a competence and innovation centre for railway technology.
The lignite phase-out is imminent, but RWE Power AG is actively tackling this change.
