NETINERA Deutschland is the second largest private transportation company in Germany and belongs to a consortium which is run by the Italian state rail company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane. This makes NETINERA Deutschland GmbH part of the third largest transportation group in Europe. The company stands for modern, environmentally-friendly local transport, advanced transportation logistics and distinctive service orientation. Growing competition, increasing customer requirements and the provision of the required transportation services require a rail vehicle fleet which is always available, safe and reliable. In order to manage the rail vehicles in the best possible way, NETINERA Deutschland GmbH counts on the asset management system zedas®asset at all of its locations.

Specialist rail knowledge developed over many years and mobile connections

With zedas®asset, NETINERA counts on a solution which is based on specialist rail knowledge developed over many years which has already proven itself in our numerous demanding fleet maintenance projects. The first project step consists of the rollout of the solution for monitoring the condition of the vehicles and for the efficient use of maintenance resources at erixx GmbH and vlexx GmbH. zedas®asset supports:

• the planning and management of deadlines,
• fault management,
• warranty monitoring,
• tracking components,
• the connection of wheelset measurement devices through interfaces,
• the determination of key figures and the integration of performance data, such as mileage, operating hours and tank data from the vehicle operating system.

One of the solutions highlights is the use of mobile devices as sources of information and data for the workshop employees and train personnel. This ensures a constant flow of information without breaks in the media. Multiple registrations are avoided and the amount of data kept on paper is reduced considerably.

The next stages of the project involve the rollout to more locations belonging to the group, which has rail and bus companies, workshops, port companies and a courier. The expansion of the solution by resource planning and accounting is also planned. The connection to the administrative system SAP® which is used to handle material planning is done thorough an interface.
