Mosaic Transit Maintenance GP relies on German rail software specialist ZEDAS
Maintenance management for rail infrastructure in Toronto
02.12.2020 | With the Canadian company Mosaic Transit Maintenance GP (MTM), the maintainer of the Metrolinx Finch West Light Rail Transit (FWLRT) project in Toronto, ZEDAS GmbH welcomes an exciting new customer. The rail software specialist was able to succeed against international competitors in the North American market with its know-how and its product zedas®asset for the asset management of rail infrastructure of the FWLRT project.
In May 2018, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario selected Mosaic Transit Group to carry out the design and construction of an 11 km of light rail transit line, consisting of 18 stops, a track system, signals, a communication system, and other necessary infrastructure, as well as a maintenance and storage facility. The entire system is to be maintained by MTM for the next 30 years and renewed as needed.
For this project, MTM was looking for a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) that would allow the maintainer to plan, track and document all maintenance activities on the infrastructure.
Linear Asset Management
ZEDAS has made a name for itself in the rail industry with its specialized asset management system zedas®asset and fully meets the requirements set out by MTM. In particular, the management of linear assets (e.g. track systems) represents a strength of the solution and is the basis for realizing predictive maintenance strategies. The software will help the client track all infrastructure assets down to component level, create, monitor, and complete work orders. Furthermore, another important requirement was the management and monitoring of light rail vehicles. The fleet and maintenance management of rolling stock is another module of the ZEDAS product suite being utilized. The zedas®asset software including its mobile Apps convinced the experts at MTM.
