ZEDAS wins German Mobility Award 2020
„Deutschland – Land der Ideen“ and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure award innovations for networked mobility
07.10.2020 | ZEDAS GmbH brings the German Mobility Award to Brandenburg with the project "App accelerates train handling from A - Z". Under the motto “Intelligent on the move: Together. Networked. Mobil.”, the initiative "Deutschland – Land der Ideen" (engl.: "Germany – Land of Ideas") and the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) were looking for innovative lighthouse projects and creative ideas that use the potential of digital networking for the mobility of the future.
The award-winning project: zedas®cargo Train Check
The award was given to our Train Check app, which digitizes and automates train dispatch using paper and pen. It is part of our software zedas®cargo for logistics management in rail freight transport. The app performs the brake calculation and automatically creates brake slips and wagon lists. The creation of a brake slip is compulsory in every country, but specific regulations of all countries that the train will cross must be observed. In contrast to stand-alone apps, the zedas®cargo Train Check takes all data from previous processes such as the transport order and uses it for the subsequent steps.
The end-to-end process within a software optimizes the logistics chain because it significantly shortens and simplifies a very time-consuming task in rail freight transport. The app for train control significantly relieves the employees of the RU - regardless of whether they work in the control center or in the field. Manual, recurring work, such as carrying out the brake calculation and creating the mandatory documents, is automated.
